The Diez-Caballero Gran Reserva 1998 vintage produced only 5,000 total bottles of this exceptional wine. There is not a Rioja Tempranillo available in the US market today which has this wonderful mix of age and structure. This wine was aged for 24 months in 55% American and 45% French oak barrels, and then kept another 24 months in the bottle before release. Vines used to produce this wine were on average 60 years old.

The Diez-Caballero Reserva 2000 vintage production ascended to 18,000 bottles of this magnificent wine. Aged 18 months in 55% American and 45% French oak, this wine rested for a further 18 months in the bottle before release.

The Diez-Caballero Vendimia Seleccionada is made only in the years of harvests considered ‘excellent’ by the family. Harvested by hand from 60+ year old Tempranillo vines on a single plot in Elciego, this wine has aged 24 months in new French and American oak barrels and has rested a further 3 years in the bottle before release. Drink through 2015.

Diez-Caballero Crianza 2004

The Diez-Caballero Crianza is a wonderful Tempranillo wine made in traditional Rioja style. It has aged in 60% American and 40% Oak barrels for 14 months, and heralds from vines at least 35 years old. Total production ascended to 80,000 bottles.
